Ross crafts some of California’s most elegant Pinot Noir wines under his family’s label, and makes more than a dozen other varietal wines as a consultant for other wineries. He also loves beer. DAN BARWICK of Paradise Ridge Winery in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, is this episode’s guest. Dan’s specialty is Sauvignon Blanc, but he also makes damned good Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and other good stuff. Paradise Ridge was utterly destroyed in last year’s Northern California wildfires, but the good news is, the family is rebuilding. If anyone could use a beer it’s surely Dan, so we head for Plow Brewing Co. in Santa Rosa, Calif., to chat about English beer, butcher boys, wine and the fires that changed everything.
